Project Information
Timbertop is a year-round weekend retreat for an active family of five, set within a hilltop clearing on a 200-acre property that has remained in the same family for generations. The site commands expansive views across the Niagara Escarpment, overlooking rolling farmland and forested ridges characteristic of southwestern Ontario.
The single-storey layout prioritizes ease and adaptability. A generous mudroom anchors the entry, with circulation flowing into a vaulted communal space featuring an open kitchen, harvest table, and living area with a built-in library. Private bedrooms are arranged along a wide corridor, culminating in a primary suite concealed behind a full-height pivoting door. Expansive glass walls along the southern edge open onto a railing-free deck wrapping a cedar-clad hot tub, while deeply recessed full-height windows provide passive shading and daylight throughout the year.
